Currently Not Collectible Status

If your monthly income is less than or equal to what the IRS calls your ALLOWABLE living expenses, you may qualify for what is known as hardship status, also known by the IRS as 53 status or currently not collectible status.

If it is deemed by the IRS that you do not currently have any ability to pay your tax due, based upon your financial situation (as defined), they will put a hold on all collection activity.

This does not eliminate your tax debt.  It only puts a halt to collection activity.

Contact our office to see if you qualify for Currently Not Collectible Status and how we can stop the IRS collection activity against you.
